The most fundamental tasks of the project are:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Development of a new consistent methodology to detect, quantify and characterize clusters in spatio-temporal data based on topological, statistical and functional fractal measures, point process analyses (e.g. K-function and scan statistics) and geostatistical tools.<\/li>\n<li>The practical part of the research deals with the application of the developed methods for real and simulated space-time environmental data. For instance,\u00a0landslides and of wildfires with case studies in Switzerland and in Portugal.<\/li>\n<li>Multidisciplinary\u00a0 approach: it implies expertise in geoinformatics, spatial statistics and environmental sciences.
