Les recherches se sont concentr\u00e9es sur trois sites situ\u00e9s en Anatolie centrale, en Turquie, qui conservent des archives g\u00e9ologiques tr\u00e8s compl\u00e8tes de cette p\u00e9riode charni\u00e8re entre le Cr\u00e9tac\u00e9 et le Pal\u00e9og\u00e8ne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les analyses men\u00e9es sur des couches de s\u00e9diments ont permis de rep\u00e9rer des indices pr\u00e9cis de l\u2019impact d\u2019un ast\u00e9ro\u00efde g\u00e9ant (l\u2019impact de Chicxulub), comme une anomalie en iridium, une chute brutale du carbone, et la disparition soudaine de nombreuses esp\u00e8ces marines. En parall\u00e8le, d\u2019autres signaux montrent que d\u2019intenses \u00e9ruptions volcaniques en Inde (le volcanisme du Deccan) ont aussi perturb\u00e9 le climat et les oc\u00e9ans, notamment en rendant les eaux plus acides et en ralentissant le fonctionnement de la vie marine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En r\u00e9sum\u00e9, cette \u00e9tude met en lumi\u00e8re l\u2019enchev\u00eatrement de deux grands facteurs \u2014 impact extraterrestre et volcanisme massif \u2014 qui ont boulevers\u00e9 la plan\u00e8te et contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019une des extinctions de masse les plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres de l\u2019histoire de la Terre.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Th\u00e8se en sciences de la Terre, soutenue le 23 juin 2025 par Ali Uygar Karabeyoglu, rattach\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;Institut des sciences de la Terre (ISTE) de la FGSE.
