Unfortunately, Professor Katja Rost passed away at the beginning of the project. She nevertheless remains an important part of of the GenFam team and its intellectual foundation, having played a central role in the conceptual design of the overall project and, in particular, of the fertility work package. Katja Rost was a professor of sociology and private lecturer in economics at the University of Zurich. Her research focused on economic and organizational sociology (digital historical sociology, gender in affluent societies, elite sociology, sociology of digitalization and innovation). She was the director of the Department of Sociology SUZ, vice president of the University Council of the University of Lucerne, co-director of the University Research Priority Programs (URPP“Human Reproduction Reloaded,” deputy chair of the “Center for Higher Education and Science Studies,” and a member of the University Research Priority Programs (URPP“Digital Religions”.

Within GenFam Katja Rost worked on fertility behaviour and reproductive decision-making.
