{"id":9875,"date":"2025-08-19T10:11:55","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T08:11:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/esspace\/?p=9875"},"modified":"2025-08-25T10:38:42","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T08:38:42","slug":"villard-justine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/esspace\/2025\/08\/villard-justine\/","title":{"rendered":"Justine Villard"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Development and plasticity of the monkey perirhinal and parahippocampal cortices: insights into memory development and neurological disorders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><em>Titulaire d\u2019un master en psychologie clinique, Justine Villard a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 sa th\u00e8se en neuroscience \u00e0 l\u2019UNIL au sein du Laboratoire du Cerveau et du D\u00e9veloppement Cognitif (LABCD), sous la supervision du Professeur Pierre Lavenex. Elle a soutenu sa th\u00e8se le 4 juillet 2025.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le lobe temporal m\u00e9dian, incluant l\u2019hippocampe ainsi que les cortex entorhinal, p\u00e9rirhinal et parahippocampique, joue un r\u00f4le essentiel dans la m\u00e9moire d\u00e9clarative et pr\u00e9sente des alt\u00e9rations dans plusieurs troubles neurologiques. Tandis que l\u2019hippocampe fait l\u2019objet de nombreuses \u00e9tudes, les cortex adjacents et particuli\u00e8rement les cortex p\u00e9rirhinal et parahippocampique ont re\u00e7u beaucoup moins d\u2019attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En utilisant des m\u00e9thodes st\u00e9r\u00e9ologiques (m\u00e9thodes quantitatives permettant d\u2019estimer des caract\u00e9ristiques structurales comme le volume ou le nombre de cellules) sur des coupes de cerveau de singe color\u00e9es au Nissl,* cette th\u00e8se a permis de d\u00e9terminer des p\u00e9riodes critiques de maturation structurelle de ces r\u00e9gions et des facteurs de plasticit\u00e9 qui peuvent \u00eatre particuli\u00e8rement sensibles aux perturbations et contribuer \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tiologie de troubles neurod\u00e9veloppementaux. En particulier, ces analyses ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 une maturation plus pr\u00e9coce du cortex parahippocampique par rapport au cortex p\u00e9rirhinal, en accord avec l\u2019id\u00e9e qu\u2019une maturation diff\u00e9rentielle des circuits du lobe temporal m\u00e9dian sous-tend la progressive \u00e9mergence des processus mn\u00e9siques au cours du d\u00e9veloppement. De plus, ce travail a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 qu\u2019une l\u00e9sion hippocampique induit des changements dans les populations de neurones immatures et matures des cortex entorhinal et p\u00e9rirhinal, qui pourraient contribuer \u00e0 la pr\u00e9servation ou \u00e0 l\u2019alt\u00e9ration des fonctions mn\u00e9siques observ\u00e9es apr\u00e8s un dommage \u00e0 l\u2019hippocampe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans son ensemble, cette th\u00e8se apporte des informations quantitatives fondamentales sur le d\u00e9veloppement structural typique et atypique du lobe temporal m\u00e9dian chez le primate, offrant ainsi une meilleure compr\u00e9hension des p\u00e9riodes critiques et des processus sensibles du neurod\u00e9veloppement, ainsi que des bases neurobiologiques de la m\u00e9moire d\u00e9clarative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">* La coloration Nissl permet de mettre en \u00e9vidence les corps cellulaires, notamment les neurones.
