Ses recherches se focalisent sur des th\u00e8mes en lien avec l\u2019\u00e9ducation, les parcours de vie et le vieillissement. Ses comp\u00e9tences m\u00e9thodologiques ont surtout trait avec les m\u00e9thodes quantitatives. Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, Ignacio Madero-Cabib a publi\u00e9 plusieurs articles scientifiques dans des revues internationales comme, par exemple, <\/em>European Journal of Ageing, Work Aging and Retirement, Longitudinal and Life Course Studies, Latin American Research Review, International Journal of Sociology of Education.<\/p>\n<p>Un ensemble consid\u00e9rable de recherches sur les parcours de vie a examin\u00e9 les trajectoires professionnelles en Suisse, en mettant l&rsquo;accent sur la carri\u00e8re professionnelle des jeunes et, plus tard, \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge adulte. Toutefois, l\u2019\u00e9tude de la fin de la carri\u00e8re professionnelle (c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire de 50 ans jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la retraite) suscite un int\u00e9r\u00eat grandissant, et cela pour plusieurs raisons: la persistance du faible taux de natalit\u00e9 associ\u00e9 \u00e0 une population vieillissante, la forte proportion de travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s actifs, des \u00e9volutions continues au moment du d\u00e9part \u00e0 la retraite, et des politiques visant \u00e0 maintenir les personnes au travail apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;\u00e2ge l\u00e9gal de la retraite.
