Il poursuit actuellement ses recherches dans le cadre d\u2019une bourse de l\u2019Union Europ\u00e9enne de Football Association. Sa th\u00e8se a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite sous la co-direction de Nicolas Bancel, Professeur \u00e0 l\u2019Institut des Sciences du Sport de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Lausanne et Rebecca Rogers, Professeure en Histoire de l\u2019Education \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Paris Descartes.<!--more--><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Cette recherche doctorale analyse l\u2019engagement des m\u00e9decins fran\u00e7ais autour de l\u2019\u00e9ducation physique entre 1741 et 1888. Bas\u00e9 sur un travail prosopographique d\u2019identification des m\u00e9decins qui ont particip\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9laboration de l\u2019\u00e9ducation physique, ce travail repose sur une mise en dialogue de leurs prises de position respectives. Pour r\u00e9aliser cette enqu\u00eate, nous avons compuls\u00e9 un large corpus de sources primaires, compos\u00e9 des ouvrages consacr\u00e9s \u00e0 la gymnastique m\u00e9dicale mais aussi une tr\u00e8s large portion de la production d\u2019imprim\u00e9s touchant \u00e0 l\u2019anatomie, l\u2019hygi\u00e8ne, la th\u00e9rapeutique, la physiologie, l\u2019orthop\u00e9die, etc. Le corpus contient \u00e9galement des articles des principaux dictionnaires m\u00e9dicaux de la p\u00e9riode et des principales revues m\u00e9dicales du XIX<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle. Avec une approche critique de l\u2019historiographie et \u00e0 partir de ce corpus, nous avons travaill\u00e9 dans le cadre de contextes d\u00e9finis pour saisir au plus pr\u00e8s les logiques sociales et scientifiques amenant les m\u00e9decins aupr\u00e8s de l\u2019\u00e9ducation physique.<\/p>\n<p>Trois conjonctures successives structurent l\u2019engagement m\u00e9dical. Entre 1741 et 1817, la th\u00e8se retrace l\u2019\u00e9mergence d\u2019un questionnement\u00a0; les ann\u00e9es 1817-1847 constituent un \u00ab\u00a0moment orthop\u00e9dique\u00a0\u00bb dans la formulation de la gymnastique\u00a0; et finalement entre 1847 et 1888, on observe une diversification des voies de l\u00e9gitimation m\u00e9dicale des exercices du corps. Ces trois moments de l\u2019histoire des \u00ab\u00a0discours gymniques m\u00e9dicaux\u00a0\u00bb proposent un certain nombre de convergences\u00a0: la pr\u00e9gnance de l\u2019orthop\u00e9die, une certaine concentration autour de la sant\u00e9 des corps f\u00e9minins, l\u2019inclusion dans un \u00ab\u00a0projet hygi\u00e9niste\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0; mais aussi des divergences et des singularit\u00e9s\u00a0: relatives \u00e0 la progressive structuration en cours du champ m\u00e9dical, \u00e0 l\u2019implication progressive du politique (surtout apr\u00e8s 1845\/1850), aux transformations des pathologies\/doctrines m\u00e9dicales \u00ab\u00a0dominantes\u00a0\u00bb, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019importance plus ou moins forte de l\u2019une ou l\u2019autre des facettes de l\u2019\u00e9ducation physique (militaire, athl\u00e9tique, \u00ab\u00a0m\u00e9dicinale\u00a0\u00bb ou p\u00e9dagogique). Le processus est aussi celui de l\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation de la curation de certaines pathologies (scolioses, affections nerveuses), dans des configurations id\u00e9ologiques\/scientifiques marqu\u00e9es par la \u00ab\u00a0d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ration\u00a0\u00bb (XVIII<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle), l\u2019anatomie pathologique (d\u00e9but du XIX<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle) et plus tard la \u00ab\u00a0d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rescence\u00a0\u00bb et les affections nerveuses (apr\u00e8s 1850).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Le mouvement peut-il gu\u00e9rir\u00a0?
