She is the author of <em>The Experience of Education in Anglo-Saxon Literature<\/em> (Cambridge, 2018) and the editor of <em>Rumba Under Fire: The Arts of Survival from West Point to Delhi<\/em> (Punctum, 2016). Recent editorial projects include a special issue of <em>Medieval Feminist Forum<\/em> on \u201cEveryday Arts: Craft, Voice, Performance\u201d with Emma O\u2019Loughlin B\u00e9rat and an issue of <em>New Literary History<\/em> entitled \u201cIn Brief,\u201d with Bruce Holsinger. She is a columnist at the <em>Times Literary Supplement<\/em>, co-hosts a podcast at the <em>London Review of Books<\/em> with Mary Wellesley, and contributes essays, criticism, and memoir to a wide variety of outlets.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plenary Lecture: <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/esse2024\/files\/2024\/04\/Dumitrescu.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"485\">Chaucer&#8217;s Women and the Problem of Perfection<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized is-style-rounded\"><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/esse2024\/files\/2023\/07\/Maria-Rosa-foto-professional-novembre-2019-min-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-300\" width=\"200\" height=\"270\" style=\"border:grey solid 1px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Maria Rosa Garrido&nbsp;<\/strong>is Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics at Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona.&nbsp;Her main research interests include language, mobilities and social exclusion, the sociolinguistic construction of transnational identities, and multilingualism in globalised workplaces and learning spaces.&nbsp;Her research has been published internationally in journals such as&nbsp;<em>Language Policy<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>International Journal of Multilingualism<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Linguistics and Education,&nbsp;Language and Intercultural Communication,<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Multilingua.&nbsp;<\/em>She is author of the monograph&nbsp;<em>Community, Solidarity and Multilingualism in a Social Movement: A Critical Sociolinguistic Ethnography of Emmaus<\/em>&nbsp;(Routledge, 2021).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plenary Lecture: <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/esse2024\/files\/2024\/04\/Garrido.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"487\">English-Centric Multilingualism for Humanitarian Work: Tensions between Roots and Routes in an International Organisation in Geneva<\/a><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized is-style-rounded\"><img alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/esse2024\/files\/2023\/07\/JD_cropped-748x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-285\" width=\"200\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>J.D. Schnepf<\/strong> is an Assistant Professor of American Studies at the University of Groningen. Her writing has appeared in American Literature, Contemporary Literature, Feminist Media Studies, International Feminist Journal of Politics, Media and Environment, Modern Fiction Studies, and other venues. She is the recipient of the Emory Elliott Prize from the International American Studies Association (2019) and has edited a special issue of Review of International American Studies entitled \u201cGender and Surveillance\u201d with Dr. Molly Geidel.
