“Common ground” deck is now available digitally

The “Common ground” deck is available for download. You can find it in digital form in the ‘good practice’ section of the UZH Teaching Tools: LINK

Often in classes, students form homogeneous groups based on familiarity. This leads to segregation along lines of nationality, culture, language, and physical characteristics. For example, if a group can be freely chosen, local students often prefer working in groups with other local students, avoiding international students. This limits opportunities for broader interaction and learning, hindering inclusivity within the educational environment.

“Common Ground” is a card deck. It is designed to foster inclusivity and diversity in the classroom. It does so by highlighting shared experiences among students. This scenario-based card deck engages students in a non-intrusive, reflective activity at the start of each course.

Thanks to UZH Teaching Fund (ULF) for funding this project as a micro_innovation.
