Research fellow, Group Bergmann
|
David has a BS in Biology from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. in Integrative Physiology from University of Colorado. Dave has always been fascinated by physiology and during his Ph.D. he characterized the molecular mechanisms that reduce energy expenditure following weight loss. Following his Ph.D., Dave did a postdoc at Harvard where he investigated the multi-omic response to acute and chronic exercise. After his postdoc, Dave joined a start-up technology company called Whoop that makes wearable devices. At Whoop, he worked as a senior research scientist on the data science team where he developed novel methods to derive physiological insights that inform upon health. Dave will be joining the Bergmann group where he will be helping to connect the properties of the micro- and macrovasculature from multimodal imaging through genetics and deep learning to better understand vascular pathomechanisms and predict disease risk.
