Irene Julca obtained her PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, working on comparative genomics and phylogenomics at the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG). Then, she did a postdoc at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. At present, her research focuses on the integration of genomic and transcriptomic data to study the patterns of gene conservation across species and organs, with a special focus on plants.
