We also have an internal onboarding document for group members that covers mutual expectations, settling in, and using the UNIL high-performance computing cluster.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details alignfull is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Collaboration and Inclusivity<\/summary>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>We strive to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create a research environment where everyone feels welcome and supported regardless of  their individual background\/identity, which includes combatting discrimination of all forms (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/egalite\/en\/home\/menuinst\/non-discrimination\/contre-les-discriminations-raciales.html\">nationality, race, ethnicity<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/egalite\/en\/home\/menuinst\/egalite-femmes-hommes.html\">gender<\/a>, socioeconomic status, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/egalite\/en\/home\/menuinst\/non-discrimination\/contre-les-discriminations-anti-lgbt.html\">sexual orientation<\/a>, disability, age, religion, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Informally and frequently share research progress within the lab, including during the weekly lab meetings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Openly discuss research obstacles and seek advice\/help in the lab<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Share <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/dawn\/helpful-resources-at-unil\/\">helpful resources<\/a> at UNIL and beyond  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Offer kind and actionable feedback to help lab peers improve our research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details alignfull is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Open and Reproducible Research<\/summary>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>We make:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our papers accessible to all by posting preprints (via e.g., <a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/\">arXiv<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.essoar.org\/\">ESSOAr<\/a>) as soon as the research has gone through internal peer-review<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our code public by releasing our repositories on <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/\">Github<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/about.gitlab.com\/solutions\/education\/\">Gitlab<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our research reproducible by documenting the software and computing environment used for a project in its preprint, linking the preprint to the corresponding code repository, openly sharing negative results, and clearly defining all variables and acronyms used in a paper [<a href=\"https:\/\/journals.ametsoc.org\/view\/journals\/bams\/97\/7\/bams-d-15-00010.1.xml\">helpful reference<\/a>]<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our presentations accessible by posting recordings <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/dawn\/#Seminars\">at this link<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details alignfull is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Work-Life Balance<\/summary>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>We promote work-life balance by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Encouraging all lab members to take 5 weeks of paid holidays<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not scheduling project meetings during weekends or national holidays<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respecting non-traditional schedules: Lab members are free to set their own work days\/hours as long as they attend the weekly lab meeting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encouraging lab members to take a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/familles\/en\/home\/menuinst\/travailetudes---conges\/vous-travaillez-a-lunil\/conges-pour-raisons-familiales.html\">paid parental leave<\/a> when applicable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details alignfull is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>UNIL Institutional Values<\/summary>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>1.
