He leads the Data-Driven Atmospheric &amp; Water Dynamics (\u2202<sup>3<\/sup>AWN) laboratory, the first research group worldwide dedicated to bridging atmospheric physics and AI. Tom holds a Ph.D. in atmospheric science from MIT, where he studied tropical convection. His postdoctoral work at Columbia University and UC Irvine focused on deep learning for climate modeling. At \u2202AWN, Fei is working on bringing topology-based techniques to atmospheric sciences and climate modeling, specifically in equation discovery and parameterization. In addition, she is also working on benchmarking machine learning-based hybrid Earth system models. His research includes developing methods to discover physics from data and improving tropical cyclone prediction. Frederick previously studied dual-polarimetric signatures in nocturnal MCSs during his master\u2019s at National Taiwan University and has chased tornadoes in the U.S. Great Plains. Filippo has a background in physics from the University of Milano-Bicocca and developed expertise in machine learning through industry experience. He earned a master\u2019s degree in climate physics from Utrecht University, completing a thesis on atmospheric modeling at ETH Zurich. She previously holds an Honours degree in Physics from the University of Delhi as well as Master\u2019s in Integrated Climate System Sciences from University of Hamburg, where she also worked as a
