The main research focus of the Davis group is to develop quantitative and spatially explicit reconstructions of late Quaternary climate and environmental change in order to improve our understanding of the Earth system. Our team spans many disciplines including archaeology, palaeo-ecology, palaeo-climatology, palaeo-oceanography and computing science. One of our main tasks is to test the ability of climate models to simulate past climates, so that we can have a better idea about how reliable models may be in simulating our future climate.<\/p>\n
The group is led by Dr Basil Davis and we are based at the University of Lausanne (UNIL<\/a>), within the Institute of Earth Surface Dynamics (IDYST<\/a>), which is part of the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment (FGSE<\/a>).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Le principal objectif de recherche du groupe Davis est de d\u00e9velopper des reconstructions quantitatives et spatialement explicites du changement climatique et environnemental du Quaternaire tardif afin d’am\u00e9liorer notre compr\u00e9hension du syst\u00e8me terrestre. Notre \u00e9quipe couvre de nombreuses disciplines dont l’arch\u00e9ologie, la pal\u00e9o\u00e9cologie, la pal\u00e9o-climatologie, la pal\u00e9o-oc\u00e9anographie et la science informatique.
