He studied electronic engineering at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, Fribourg. After obtaining his bachelor degree in 2004, he moved to Calgary, Canada, to pursue his academic career at the university of Calgary, where he completed both an MSc and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering. For his PhD thesis, J\u00e9r\u00f4me worked in Dr Richard Frayne\u2019s lab, where he investigated modern sparse acquisition strategies coupled with nonlinear reconstruction techniques to accelerate MR neuroimaging of stroke. His research led him to gain extensive experience with compressed sensing and parallel imaging reconstructions for rapid MR imaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u00e9r\u00f4me is now researching new methods for cardiac MR imaging by&nbsp;focusing&nbsp;on the acquisition and retrospective reconstruction of multi-dimensional cardiac imaging data in an effort to resolve respiratory and cardiac motion without the need for external navigation or breath-holding.&nbsp;He has a strong interest in developing advanced nonlinear reconstruction techniques to improve image quality at both the temporal and spatial resolution of cardiac MR imaging.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside of work,&nbsp;Jerome&nbsp;enjoys&nbsp;climbing, photography, and&nbsp;paragliding.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>e-mail: Jerome.Yerly@chuv.ch phone: +41-21-3141350 Center for BioMedical Imaging (CIBM) Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) Rue de Bugnon 46, BH 7.84 1011 Lausanne, Switzerland J\u00e9r\u00f4me Yerly is a senior research scientist (charg\u00e9 de recherche) and project leader&nbsp;at the CHUV-UNIL Translational Magnetic Resonance Research Center.
