He completed his Bachelor&#8217;s and Master&#8217;s degrees in General Engineering at the \u00c9cole Centrale de Nantes (ECN), as well as a second Master&#8217;s degree in Earth and Space Physics and Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He got in touch with the Cryospheric world while writing his Master&#8217;s thesis in collaboration with the Geological Survey of Greenland and Denmark (GEUS), where he worked with magnetotelluric measurements to estimate the electrical conductivity distribution beneath the Nuusuaq Peninsula, Western Greenland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the University of Lausanne, Bastien has been working on the development of a lightweight, drone-based, ground-penetrating radar (GPR) system, designed specifically for the acquisition of high-density, high-resolution, 3D and 4D data over alpine glaciers. He has been using this system to record, to our knowledge, the largest high-density 3D\/4D GPR datasets ever collected over ice, which are being analyzed by the CRAG group to investigate glacier internal dynamics and hydrology. Bastien also strongly values scientific outreach, which he has done through various talks and videos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his free time, Bastien enjoys all kinds of sports (tennis, judo, ski, football, hiking) and likes to travel, especially by bike.
