Call for 4S Young Investigator Award proposals

The promotion of young sport scientists in Switzerland is an important goal of the Swiss Society of Sport Science (4S). For this purpose, a Young Investigator Award will be presented at the 13th SGS annual congress.

Application
To apply for the Young Investigator Award an abstract must be submitted (including references). Please use the abstract template available here, and mention the participation during the online registration process. Abstract must be written in English.

Requirements
The first author
– may not have completed the doctorate at the time of the meeting
– should not have been a winner of the 4S Young Investigator Award final at a previous meeting (1st to 3rd place)
– must be active for a Swiss institution or holds Swiss citizenship

Competition
From the applications received, five candidates will be selected by a jury, which covers social, human and natural sciences. These candidates get the opportunity to give an oral presentation (10 minutes presentation, including a 7 minutes presentation and 3 minutes of discussion on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 9.30 am until 10.45am). The presentation and slides language is exclusively English and will have to be made by the candidate.

Evaluation
The award jury, which is appointed by the 4S board, will assess the abstracts and oral presentations. The jury will evaluate the relevance of the research to the field of movement and sports, in addition to the scientific quality of the work and the quality of the presentation.

Please note that applicants not selected to participate in the final will undergo the normal abstract review process, and be selected for a poster presentation (no additional abstract needs to be submitted).
