This panel will explore ways to integrate the objective and subjective dimensions of knowledge by harnessing insights from philosophy, art, history, literature, music, cinema, and other forms of the humanities to foster human security. What a wonderfully informative obituary for a legend of New Zealand geography. I have very fond recollections of coastal geography classes with Bob Kirk in the late 1970s. Like so many of the academic staff in Geography at UC at that time he was dynamic, engaged, and a great teacher. With that remarkable cohort of colleagues he made a profound and positive difference to the academic and personal lives of many. Thanks so much Bob. RIP.
