Intitul\u00e9 aujourd\u2019hui \u00ab Introduction \u00e0 l\u2019histoire du cin\u00e9ma \u00bb, le cours est dispens\u00e9 par Alain Boillat et, pour quelques se\u0301ances au semestre de printemps, par Valentine Robert, mai\u0302tresse d\u2019enseignement et de recherche. Il propose un parcours de l\u2019histoire du cin\u00e9ma en s\u2019appuyant notamment sur la projection d\u2019extraits de films tir\u00e9s des collections de la Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que suisse, tout en soulevant des probl\u00e9matiques li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019histoire esth\u00e9tique, \u00e9conomique et technologique du cin\u00e9ma. Le cours comporte des s\u00e9ances consacr\u00e9es au cin\u00e9ma mondial, des premiers temps \u00e0 la fin du XX<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle. Les s\u00e9ances sont consacr\u00e9es \u00e0 un genre (film noir, western, science-fiction, documentaire,\u2026) ou \u00e0 une p\u00e9riode phare d\u2019une production nationale telle que la \u00ab Qualit\u00e9 fran\u00e7aise \u00bb ou le New Hollywood, les nouveaux cin\u00e9mas ou les productions japonaises classiques et asiatiques contemporaines (Hong-Kong, Chine continentale,\u2026).
