{"id":368,"date":"2025-11-10T14:48:38","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T13:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/ci26\/?page_id=368"},"modified":"2025-11-11T07:48:42","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T06:48:42","slug":"author-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/ci26\/author-guidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Author guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Climate Informatics invites submission of high-quality, novel contributions that bridge the gap between climate\/weather research and data sciences to advance the state-of-the-art in data-driven methodologies in atmospheric sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors may submit their research in the following two categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Full paper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extended abstract<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/ci26\/call-for-conference-papers\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"170\">Call for Participation<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/ci26\/submission-guidelines\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"168\">Submission Guidelines<\/a> for additional information and support to facilitate a successful submission to CI2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Formatting requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All CI2026 submissions must be prepared using the official CI2026 conference template. The LaTeX and Word templates will be available on the website shortly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All submissions (including supplementary information) must be in <strong>PDF format <\/strong>and written in <strong>english<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FIgures and tables should be clearly visible in both grayscale and color format. We recommend using <strong>colorblind safe <\/strong>color pallettes for all colored figures in your submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Submission requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Papers must be submitted electronically via the <strong>conference CMT submission portal<\/strong>. The link to this portal will be available shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The corresponding author must ensure that all coauthors approve all the results that are presented in the submission and the final manuscript.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>At least one author <\/strong>must register and present the work at the conference (in person\/remote).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Review and publication<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All submissions will undergo <strong>double-blind peer review<\/strong> by at least two independent reviewers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Papers must be written in <strong>English<\/strong>. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to seek Language Editing Assistance prior to submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors must <strong>remove identifiable information (e.g., name, affiliations, acknowledgements) <\/strong>from the manuscript before submitting your work to the CMT portal for review. <strong>Failure to remove such information will result in desk rejections.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Full papers<\/strong> that are accepted after the review process and presented at the conference will be published in a special issue of the <em>Environmental Data Sciences<\/em> (EDS) journal. Detailed guidelines to transfer the manuscript to EDS will be available after the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Registration and Attendance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At least <strong>one author per accepted paper or extended abstract<\/strong> must be registered to the conference and present their work at the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presenting authors are expected to attend and participate in the conference <strong>in person or virtually<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conference experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CI2026 encourages <strong>interdisciplinary collaborations <\/strong>between climate scientists, meteorologists, data sciences, and policy researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors are highly encouraged to adhere to the principle of <strong>reproducible research<\/strong>.
