Pour les \u00e9crivains fin-de-si\u00e8cle, le\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300\">danger r\u00e9side davantage dans le pouvoir addictif et l\u00e9nifiant\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300\">des senteurs f\u00e9minines. Pris au pi\u00e8ge de ces odeurs, les\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300\">h\u00e9ros romanesques qui les respirent plongent dans des \u00e9tats\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300\">seconds, dont seule la mort parvient \u2013 parfois \u2013 \u00e0 les lib\u00e9rer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Le pr\u00e9sent ouvrage \u00e9tudie la fa\u00e7on dont dialoguent ces trois\u00a0discours. Par l\u2019analyse des romans<em> Nana<\/em> de Zola, <em>Notre\u00a0c\u0153ur<\/em>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 300\">de Maupassant et <em>L\u2019\u00c8ve future<\/em> de Villiers de L\u2019Isle-Adam, cet\u00a0essai se propose de montrer comment, au cr\u00e9puscule du\u00a0XIX<\/span><sup style=\"font-weight: 300\">e<\/sup><span style=\"font-weight: 300\">\u00a0si\u00e8cle, les pr\u00e9suppos\u00e9s sociaux et scientifiques concernant\u00a0les odeurs composent l\u2019imaginaire collectif dans lequel\u00a0puisent les auteurs pour cr\u00e9er des h\u00e9ro\u00efnes toujours plus\u00a0s\u00e9duisantes, mena\u00e7antes\u2026 et parfum\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>S-V.
