Registration is now OPEN, and will close on 15 July 2025, with early bird prices available until 31 May.
Please read the information below before proceeding to registration.
Please note that a separate registration form should be filled in for each participant and partner of a participant.
Registration fees are as follows:
Graduate student | 40 CHF early bird / 50 CHF standard |
Postgraduate researcher/lecturer/professor | 80 CHF early bird / 90 CHF standard |
Partner of participant | 30 CHF |
The registration fees for participants will cover coffee and tea breaks throughout the conference, the welcome apéro (including food) on the evening of Wednesday 10th September, and the celebration apéro (including food) on the evening of Friday 12th September.
The registration fees for partners of participants will enable attendance of both evening apéros, and access to subsidized attendance of the conference dinner and Saturday excursion.
Lunches will be taken in the university canteen in Geopolis, and will be self-funded (c. 10-15 CHF per lunch).
Optional Choices on the Registration Form
The conference dinner and optional excursion are subsidized for all participants, though there will be a partial cost for each of these for those who choose to take part. We would like to have an idea of numbers in order to be able to finalise bookings, so please indicate which events you would like to participate in.
Conference Dinner
The Conference Dinner on the evening of Thursday 11th September will be held at the Restaurant de Dorigny on campus, with views onto the lake. There will be a set 3-course menu, with wine, mineral water and coffee. The menu is still being finalised, though a sample menu can be viewed here. Please note that this menu may change closer to the date. Additionally, in case of allergies, the menu can be altered to accommodate gluten-free or dairy-free diets.
The standard price for the conference dinner is 75 CHF, with graduate students benefitting from a concessionary rate of 60 CHF.
Optional Excursion
The optional excursion on Saturday 13th September will begin in the late morning, and will involve a 90 minute boat ride on a lake steamer, a visit to the Château de Chillon, and a wine tasting. We would recommend having a substantial brunch before the boat ride, or bringing a packed lunch to eat on the boat. However it will also be possible to have a two-course restaurant lunch on the boat although this will require pre-booking and incur additional costs (see here for the menu options). The different fare options are as follows:
Full fare, no boat lunch | 30 CHF |
Half fare (for under 25s, or those holding a Swiss half fare travel card), no boat lunch | 18 CHF |
Full fare, boat lunch included | 69 CHF |
Half fare (for under 25s, or those holding a Swiss half fare travel card), boat lunch included | 57 CHF |
Wine tasting | 20 CHF |
We have booked a coach to take us from Chillon to the Lavaux vineyards, and from there back to Lausanne. However, if you do not opt for the wine tasting, you will need to make your own way back to Lausanne by train from Grandvaux station (10 min train ride, 5.80 CHF).
The day will conclude with an evening fondue meal (or non-dairy alternative) at the ‘Pinte Besson’ in Lausanne (see menu here). The estimated price for this is 30 CHF (we will pay individually at the restaurant).
