Cette prise de vue a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e \u00e0 la plateforme de microscopie \u00e9lectronique (<a href=\"https:\/\/unil.ch\/emf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EMF<\/a>) de l\u2019UNIL, dans le cadre des recherches de l\u2019\u00e9quipe du professeur Niko Geldner, au D\u00e9partement de biologie mol\u00e9culaire v\u00e9g\u00e9tale.<\/p>\n<p>Les travaux portent notamment sur la mani\u00e8re dont les racines laissent passer l\u2019eau et les \u00e9l\u00e9ments nutritifs dont elles ont besoin tout en bloquant les substances inutiles ou toxiques. Les cellules de l\u2019endoderme (1) entourent la nervure centrale. A leur interface, on voit des structures qui, en coupe, apparaissent comme des segments presque plats (exemple en 2). Il s\u2019agit des cadres de Caspary. En trois dimensions, ils ressemblent \u00e0 des anneaux aplatis. Ces derniers contiennent de la lignine, un polym\u00e8re imperm\u00e9able.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019endoderme forme \u00e9galement une barri\u00e8re, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un autre polym\u00e8re hydrophobe, la sub\u00e9rine (3, lamelles en gris clair). Les travaux ont montr\u00e9 que la plante pouvait ordonner la fabrication de lignine et de sub\u00e9rine en fonction de ses besoins.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9quipe de l\u2019EMF collabore \u00e9troitement avec les chercheurs.
