Le 22 juin 2023, ACIDUL et le Syndicat des services publics (SSP) ont remis \u00e0 la Direction de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 une p\u00e9tition<\/a> <\/strong>munie de 1072 signatures, provenant pour la plupart de l\u2019UNIL, demandant de meilleures conditions de travail et de salaire pour les doctorant\u00b7e\u00b7s, en particulier une r\u00e9duction des in\u00e9galit\u00e9s entre les assistant\u00b7e\u00b7s dipl\u00f4m\u00e9\u00b7e\u00b7s et les doctorant\u00b7e\u00b7s financ\u00e9\u00b7e\u00b7s sur fonds externes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Direction de l\u2019UNIL a r\u00e9pondu aux p\u00e9titionnaires le 30 octobre. Des cinq revendications centrales de la p\u00e9tition, seule la quatri\u00e8me trouve une r\u00e9ponse partielle, puisque la Direction \u00e9crit que \u00ab dans la situation exceptionnelle d’une r\u00e9siliation des rapports de travail d’une professeure par l’universit\u00e9, l’UNIL se substitue au bailleur de fonds afin de maintenir les contrats des doctorant\u00b7e\u00b7s jusqu’\u00e0 leur \u00e9ch\u00e9ance \u00bb. S\u2019agissant des autres, la Direction soit d\u00e9clare qu\u2019elles rel\u00e8vent d\u2019autres organes (le Conseil d\u2019\u00c9tat ou le FNS, notamment), soit affirme qu\u2019elle les prend d\u00e9j\u00e0 en compte. La r\u00e9ponse compl\u00e8te adress\u00e9e \u00e0 ACIDUL et au SSP peut \u00eatre lue ici<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ces r\u00e9ponses sont \u00e9videmment tr\u00e8s en de\u00e7\u00e0 de ce que nous pouvions raisonnablement attendre apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9p\u00f4t d\u2019une p\u00e9tition aussi largement sign\u00e9e. Il revient d\u00e9sormais aux principales et principaux concern\u00e9\u00b7e\u00b7s de d\u00e9cider des suites \u00e0 donner \u00e0 la position prise par la Direction. C\u2019est pourquoi nous vous convions \u00e0 une<\/strong> Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale du personnel de l\u2019UNIL le 12 d\u00e9cembre \u00e0 12h15 en salle 2227 \u00e0 G\u00e9opolis<\/strong>. Son ordre du jour sera exclusivement consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 la r\u00e9ponse que nous d\u00e9ciderons d\u2019apporter et aux futures actions \u00e0 entreprendre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 22nd 2023, ACIDUL and the Public Services Union (SSP\/VPOD) submitted a petition<\/a><\/strong> to the Rectorate signed by 1072 people, mostly from UNIL. The petition demanded better working conditions and salaries for PhD students. Our main aim was to reduce inequalities between graduate assistants and PhD students on external funding, such as the SNSF. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The petitioners received a response from the Rectorate on October 30th. Out of the five requests, only the fourth receives a partial response. The Rectorate states that, \u00ab\u00a0in the exceptional situation of the termination of a professor’s contract by the university, UNIL will step in as the funding provider to maintain the contracts of PhD students until their expiration<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb (our translation). As regards the other demands, the Rectorate either claims they fall under the jurisdiction of other bodies (such as the State Council or the SNSF), or asserts that they are already being addressed. The Rectorate’s response is evidently a great disappointment, especially considering how widely the petition was signed. It now falls upon the interested parties (i.e. PhD students and mid-level staff) to decide on the course of action that should be taken. That is why we invite you to a General Assembly of UNIL staff on December 12th at 12:15pm in room<\/strong> 2227 of the Geopolis building<\/strong>.
