The French Society of Sport Psychology (SFPS) is a scholarly organisation affiliated to the French Psychological Society (SFP). It gathers psychology practitioners, teachers and researchers specialised in the field of sports and physical activities. Once a year, the SFPS organises its national study days, and its international congress every four years.
The main duties of the SFPS are:
- Organise, prompt and distribute works in the field of sport psychology by means of symposia, publications and scientific meetings
- Contribute to the creation and development of trainings in sport psychology
- Define the specific features of the sport psychologist, and clarify the ethics and moral codes behind the intervention.
