Camp location: Champéry in the heart of Porte du Soleil

Champéry is a nice Swiss alpine village situated only one hour by car from Lausanne and 1.5 hours by car from Genève airport. As one of 12 resort villages in the vast Portes du Soleil recreational area, Champéry is the ideal year-round destination for hikers, bikers, skiers and epicureans alike.

Portes du Soleil is a skiing and snowboarding mecca. It is home to one of the largest international ski areas in the world, with approximatively 650 km of ski trails. There is something for everyone; gentle beginner slopes, endless, perfectly groomed avenues, steep bumps, powder-filled gullies and immaculately shaped snow parks, not to mention the added thrill of being able to crisscross the border between Switzerland and France, navigating by the glacial bulk of Mont Blanc on one side and the rugged Dents du Midi mountain range to the other.

What to do at Champéry?

With an impressive array of ski schools and some 1,300 ski instructors and guides on hand, this is the perfect place to take a few lessons, improve your technique, and enjoy the perfect ski holiday.

Moreover, besides skiing and snowboarding, there are also many indoor activities such as badminton, climbing, fitness and even a swimming pool with different aqua gym sessions.

About fifteen minutes’ drive, there is also a thermes park offering thermal baths, spa, hammam and sauna (Bains thermaux du Val d’Iliez). These will allow you to take time to relax and enjoy your time in the Swiss mountains.
