Welcome to the website of the 2018 Biennial Conference of the Swiss Association of North American Studies! This year’s topic is “The Genres of Genre: A Conference on Form, Format, and Cultural Formations.”
You can find our final conference program here.
As is custom with SANAS conferences, a SPELL (Swiss Papers in English Language and Literature) issue based on the conference will be published. If you wish us to take your paper into consideration, please follow the instructions of the SPELL Call for Papers. Please note that the deadline for submissions is already November 20, 2018.
Please note that the conference will be preceded by a film screening of Rhymes for Young Ghouls (2013), a movie by Mi’kmaq film director and writer Jeff Barnaby. The screening will be followed by a round table on Indigenous cultures and youth with Dr. Jennifer Thorburn (Unil). The event takes place on November 1, 2018 at the Zinéma in Lausanne. If you want to join us, please sign up on this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rhymes-for-young-ghouls-tickets-50121779592. For more information, click here.
