The Palais de Rumine in Lausanne

RumineThe official opening ceremony for our 2017 conference will be held on Sunday, 9th July 2017 in the Palais de Rumine. This impressive, florentine-style building, located in the city centre on the Place de la Riponne, used to be the Lausanne university until the current field was purchased. It takes his name from the donator who financed the building work: Gabriel de Rumine (1841 – 1871), an aristocrat of Russian origin. Achieved in 1906, the project was led by the French architect Gaspard André (1840 – 1896), from Lyon.Rumine intérieur

Nowadays, the Palais de Rumine houses the cantonal museums of fine art, geology, zoology, archaeology and history, the Cantonal Money Museum, and the cantonal and university library.
