  • By plane
    The main two international airports are Geneva and Zurich. Basel and Bern (Belp) airports, although smaller, may also be an option.Geneva Airport is the closest international airport to Lausanne. The journey takes about 45 minutes by direct train. There are 4 direct trains per hour and a 2nd class single ticket (one way) costs CHF 26 (approx. € 21).The trip from Zürich Airport takes approximately two and a half hours by direct train.

    Tickets may be purchased in every train station at the distributers (Swiss francs, euros or credit cards), or the station ticket windows, or online.

  • By train
    Lausanne is very well connected to the Swiss railway network, as well as to its neighboring countries, France, Italy and Germany. The TGV from Paris (approx. 4h), EC from Milan (approx. 4h) and ICE from Frankfurt (approx. 5h30) or Munich (approx. 7h).
  • By car
    Switzerland and its neighbouring countries have fast and well maintained motorways. In Switzerland, roads are well indicated and rarely blocked. To drive on the motorways, the tax sticker is obligatory. It can be purshased for CHF 40 (approx. € 32) at the customs post, police station and post office. There are car rental agencies in all the major cities and airports.
