In 2016, Avanade launched its first program part of its strategy to increase the number of females in leadership roles called Avanade Leadership Program for Women (ALPW). That year, twenty five female managers enthusiastically participated in this global program designed to build skills that will enhance their ability to communicate, network, and negotiate.
The program spanned four months and participants continued to build skills and community through webinars, personal coaching, and working within a small global team on a challenge before reconvening for the close. They were also encouraged to “pay it forward” by becoming a mentor through the Aspire Foundation virtual mentoring program (open to all Avanade employees).
Since then, Avanade has multiplied the initiatives to promote diversity in the IT workforce and leadership positions. Our Women’s Employee Resource Group leverages talented colleagues and roles models from every part and every level of the company to foster connections and support women and allies. Our STEM Scholarship invests in the future of young women and offers internships, mentoring and a support network to help recipients achieve their education and career growth.
