Situated at the heart of the Lausanne-Morges agglomeration, the capital of the canton of Vaud is the fourth-largest city in Switzerland. Lausanne stands out for being the birth place of the modern Olympics, for being a sustainable city and a place of training and culture. It is thus a very popular tourist destination.
You can download a city map, a printed version of which will be provided in your conference bag.
Lausanne benefits from a dense network of buses and two metro lines: M2 links the shore of lake Leman (Ouchy, 374 m asl), to the heights of the city (Croisettes, 711 m), via the main train station, Lausanne-Flon, Riponne and Hospital (CHUV). M1 joins Lausanne-Flon to Renens gare (Renens train station). A personal transport card will be issued by your hotel on check-in. This card will give you free access to all public transports within the city, including the metro line M1 to the University campus. It is valid for the duration of your reservation, including the day of departure.
