W. Robert Knechel, PhD, CPA is the Frederick E. Fisher Eminent Scholar in Accounting at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. He is currently the Director of the International Center for Research in Accounting and Auditing (ICRAA) located within the Fisher School of Accounting. He is also a Professor of Accounting Research at the University of Auckland and Professor of Auditing at KU Leuven. His prior research has been published in The Accounting Review, the Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Research in Accounting, Accounting Organizations and Society, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory and Accounting Horizons. He recently served as the Senior Editor of Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory and is on the editorial boards of The Accounting Review and Contemporary Accounting Research. He is a past-President of the Auditing Section.
